The City of Richmond Board of Works and Safety accepted proof of publication for several demolition hearings, referred the set of demolition bids to code enforcement for evaluation and awarded one contract for a separate property.
Clerk/staff read the proof of publication for hearings on several properties and asked the board to accept the proof. The Chair opened the floor for interested parties; none spoke. After bids were read, the board moved to refer the bids to the code enforcement department for further evaluation and possible contract awards.
Separately, staff reported received bids for the demolition of 111 South 11th Street opened June 18. The bids included Cox Excavating Plus LLC ($28,700), Mikesoll Excavating Inc. ($32,970) and B and B Construction Enrichment Inc. ($35,450). Staff recommended awarding the work to Cox Excavating Plus LLC as the low bidder. "Therefore, I recommend that the board award the bid to Cox Excavating Plus LLC in an amount not to exceed $28,700," the presenter said. The board approved that award by voice vote.
Next steps: referred bids will be evaluated by code enforcement and purchasing staff for contract execution; the awarded contract for 111 South 11th Street will be finalized consistent with the "not to exceed" amount.
