On environmental review, the council approved participating as a cooperating agency in the Process, Casino, and Poker Plan Modification Project (Bald Mountain Mine) Environmental Assessment. City Clerk Jennifer Lee said the cooperating-agency role typically brings milestone notices and opportunities to submit comments on community impacts such as housing. The motion passed unanimously.
Other actions: Council voted unanimously to hold one regular October meeting on Oct. 23, 2025; unanimously selected an aged-copper finish for Midtown North Hills lamp posts tied to NDOT's Ely Downtown Renovation Project after City Engineer B.J. Almberg confirmed the fixtures are dark-sky compliant; and accepted an update from the Porter Group on federal funding outreach and a presentation from Nevada SBA District Director Saul Ramos describing SBA capital and counseling resources for local small businesses.
