Committee recommends Casey Moran to full council for Greater Hartford Transit District board

Moran, who gave his address for the record, said he lives in Hartford and uses transit "primarily on two feet and two wheels," adding that he had spoken with officials in neighboring transit districts to understand local needs and hopes to "push for more and better" connectivity for the city. "I live here in Hartford, as mentioned," Moran said.
Council members thanked Moran and asked about his priorities. Councilman Alex Thomas moved to forward the nomination with a favorable recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The resolution as read by committee staff states the appointment fills a vacancy for a term expiring in July 2030.
The committee noted the position is voluntary and thanked Moran for offering his service to Hartford. The recommendation will be considered by the full Hartford City Council at a later meeting.
