"It's a slog," Amity Latham said, offering experience with similar rulemaking work and volunteering to participate.
Amber Hurtado moved "regarding a smaller subcommittee to hash out the protocols that are needed for the executive committee." Misty Von Allen seconded the motion. The motion passed by voice vote with members answering "Aye." April said she would send a scheduling poll to the volunteers and begin the subcommittee work.
The committee emphasized that the subcommittee's role is to draft and refine the protocol language — including clarifying how child death review teams operate, what the executive committee is responsible for, and the scope of any statewide public‑awareness or funding actions — then present it to the full executive committee for final approval and potential NAC/NRS placement.
Next steps: April will send a doodle poll to schedule the working group (Amber, Amity, Megan, Denise and April volunteered). The subcommittee will use April's draft and NCFRP materials as a starting point and report back to the executive committee for review and approval.
