Board members raised questions about pedestrian routes and Americans with Disabilities Act access from rooftop parking down to the retail level; Christiansen said the site’s current layout is code‑compliant and that relocating or adding an accessible space at the corner entrance would reduce overall parking supply and could require a shared‑parking reduction or variance.
One board member asked whether an additional handicap space could be provided closer to the restaurant entrance; staff noted that adding such a space likely would remove a general parking stall and could trigger a shared‑parking reduction that would require re‑noticing the public hearing.
After discussion, the board voted to close the public hearing and leave the record open for one week to allow follow‑up information to be submitted and scheduled the project for decision at the June 18 meeting.
The applicant will provide any requested clarifications about parking and circulation ahead of that meeting.
