Robersonville council approves consent agenda, appropriates $6,000 for EMS billing fees

The Robersonville Town Council unanimously approved several routine items at its May 12 meeting, including an amended agenda, approval of prior meeting minutes and ratification of preaudit invoices listed on the Consent Agenda.

Mayor Tina Brown asked to add a proclamation for Edna Council’s 100th birthday and to add a line to a proposed Resolution supporting Tobacco 21; Councilman David Jenkins moved to amend the agenda, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Claudie Wilkins, and the motion passed 5-0.

Councilman James Wallace moved to approve the April 14 regular meeting minutes and the April 29 special meeting minutes; Councilwoman Debra Armstrong seconded and the motion passed 5-0.

During the Consent Agenda the Council reviewed a series of budget amendments and invoices. Budget Amendments #36-41 and #43-44 were described as transfers within department line items provided for informational review. Budget Amendment #45 was presented for Council consideration to appropriate an additional $6,000 in EMS collection revenues for EMS/Rescue billing fees for the remainder of the fiscal year; that amendment was included in the Consent Agenda approved by the Council.

The Council ratified multiple preaudit invoices listed in the packet, including a sequence of UNIFIRST invoices (amounts recorded between $51.39 and $119.79) and vendor payments such as Guy Legget for $600.00; these items were approved by motion (Wallace), second (Jenkins) and roll-call vote 5-0.

Department reports that followed included routine updates from engineering, public works/utilities and public safety; Fire/Rescue/EMS reported that Kaitlyn Paxton passed her AEMT and is approved to work under the department’s medical director. Mayor Brown announced that Healthfirst Clinic closed on May 11, 2026, and noted upcoming community events.

All formal motions during the meeting passed by 5-0 votes. The Council adjourned following routine business.
