Walton council appoints Scott Smith as city administrator in 5-1 vote after closed-session review

Earlier in the meeting the council voted to enter a closed session under KRS 61.810(1)(f) to discuss candidates for city office that might lead to an appointment to the vacant City Administrator job; the City Clerk and City Attorney were invited to attend and candidates may have been invited to discuss qualifications and background. After the closed-session discussion the council exited closed session and later approved the municipal order appointing Scott Smith.
Later in the meeting the council again voted to enter a closed session pursuant to KRS 61.810(1)(c) to discuss proposed or pending litigation against or on behalf of the public agency; the City Clerk and City Attorney were invited to join to provide legal advice. The meeting concluded after the council exited that closed session and voted to adjourn at 8:15 PM.
