AKRON, Mich. — The Akron Police Department updated council members at the May 19 meeting on enforcement and community-safety activity, including blight work, a recent suspicious death and school-related threats.
Chief D. Danielson reported increased work on blight cases in Fairgrove and efforts to ensure compliance where trailers and campers are being lived in. He said the department handled a suspicious death in Akron and responded to some threats at the high school; he will give a presentation to students and staff about threats and pornography on May 22. "The Community will be seeing a lot more of me," the minutes record.
Danielson also reported the department passed its McColes audit with a few minor items to update. The minutes note Fairgrove forfeited a $3,500 grant because it lacked required PAR insurance.
