Rockport committee approves RESA contract after ratification

The Rockport School Committee voted to approve the contract package that the Rockport Educational Support Staff Association (RESA) ratified earlier in the meeting.
Administration told the committee that RESA ratified the offer and presented key elements of the agreement, including an updated salary grid with a living‑wage adjustment that “minimally, next year, every member of the unit will make a minimum of $28 an hour,” administration said. The contract also updates language around Workday, allowances tied to benefits, and introduces three updated evaluation forms for paraprofessionals, custodial/maintenance and clerks.
School leaders thanked members of the negotiating team and RESA co‑chairs and officers by name for a collaborative process. “Very collaborative negotiations, really, really professional,” administration said of the talks.
A motion to approve the contract as presented was made and seconded and carried by voice vote. Administration said contract documents and the financial package were provided to the committee and that the agreement aims to support retention and pay fairness across the bargaining unit.
Committee members moved on to agenda items after the vote.
