Yutan board unanimously adopts 2025-26 budget and approves 2025-26 tax request

The Yutan Public Schools Board of Education met Sept. 22, 2025, approved the district's 2025-26 budget and adopted the 2025-26 tax request in unanimous roll-call votes.

The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. in the high school media center. After confirming compliance with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and noting that meeting notices were published and posted in district locations, the board took routine procedural steps including approval of the evening's agenda.

During the agenda, the board considered the proposed 2025-26 budget, which had previously been discussed at a special meeting on Aug. 27 and at public hearings on Sept. 8 and immediately prior to the Sept. 22 special meeting. Board member Gary Hollst moved to approve the budget; Judy Daniell seconded. The board adopted the budget by roll-call vote: Daniell, Hancock, Hollst, Ridder, Wacker and Wilke all voted yes (6-0).

The board then considered the proposed 2025-26 tax request, presented after prior discussion at the Aug. 27 special meeting and earlier public hearings. Board member Eric Wilke moved to approve the tax request resolution; Dan Ridder seconded. The board adopted the tax request by roll-call vote with the same 6-0 tally.

No members of the public signed up to speak during the public comment period. The board announced its next regular meeting for Oct. 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the high school media center and adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
