The Giltner Public Schools Board of Education met June 9, 2025, in the Giltner Public School library and approved payment of June claims and a change to authorized bank signers. President Schutt called the regular meeting to order at 7:05 p.m., and the board carried several routine motions by roll call.
Board members approved the June General Fund claims after a motion from President Schutt and a second from Wilson; the motion carried by roll call vote, 5 yes, 0 no. Earlier in the meeting the board determined the session had been properly noticed and excused member Lyon from attendance. The board also approved the May 2025 meeting minutes by unanimous roll call.
Why it matters: the board’s change to bank signers authorizes new, local financial signatories ahead of an administrative transition. Wilson moved to add Lori Humphrey as an authorized signer on Cornerstone Bank accounts, to remove then-superintendent Nick Mumm as a signer, and to add Matt Gordon as an authorized signer effective July 1, 2025; Hunnicutt seconded and the motion passed by roll call vote, 5 yes, 0 no.
Superintendent Matt Gordon reported he has begun budget and financial work for the coming year and that the board will schedule a retreat meeting to review priorities. The board discussed several facilities matters: members reviewed options related to relocating daycare buildings and held an informational discussion about installing a kiln in the art room; Gordon will gather additional cost information on the kiln for a future meeting.
The board received routine reports from the AD/Principal about staff checkout and preparations for the school year and heard updates on athletics and summer programming. The board tentatively set its July regular meeting for Monday, July 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the school library. The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
