Redington Shores approves three piggyback contracts for Atlantic Pipe Services to advance stormwater projects

Public Works Supervisor Mike Pafumi told the board July 9 that stormwater projects have been in planning for several years and that piggybacking on existing contracts will allow the town to move ahead efficiently. The board considered three separate piggyback contracts that together are intended to cover the town’s stormwater needs.
Commissioner Douglas Harr moved to approve the contracts in sequence: first using The Villages contract vehicle, then the City of Gainesville agreement, and finally the Volusia County contract. The motions were seconded (the first by Commissioner CJ Hoyt, the second by Vice Mayor Erin Schoos, and the third by Commissioner Larry Maynard) and each passed unanimously.
Officials said the contracts are expected to accelerate planned work but did not provide line-item contract amounts in the meeting record. Public Works Supervisor Pafumi and other staff will provide implementation details and timelines in forthcoming packets and workshops.
