Accountant Heather Guadagnoli reviewed the town's FY26 draft budget and the estimate of taxable value, telling commissioners taxable property values were down 1.02% and that she recommended maintaining the current millage rate.
Guadagnoli began her presentation with the millage-rate calculation and supporting financial documents for FY26. She said the commission has the option to raise or reduce the millage rate and that the formal decision on whether to change it will be made at the July 23, 2025 meeting.
The recommendation to hold the millage rate reflects the preliminary valuation decrease; Guadagnoli did not present a specific alternative millage figure at the workshop. No motions or votes on the millage were taken during the June 25 meeting.
The board is scheduled to address millage and final budget adoption at upcoming meetings, with the special budget meeting set for July 23, 2025.
