Trappe completes lead service line inventory; council schedules ARPA workshop and contract amendment review

The Trappe Town Council on Nov. 6 was told the town’s lead service line inventory was completed and submitted to the Maryland Department of the Environment on Oct. 15, and Town Administrator Erin Braband said staff will send 252 letters to properties identified as 'unknown.'
Braband said engineering firm Davis, Bowen & Friedel offered to amend its contract to continue work on the inventory using additional American Rescue Plan Act funds; after discussion the council asked staff to work with the firm on an amended contract for future council review.
Administrator Braband also requested a workshop to discuss allocating remaining ARPA funds before Dec. 31; the council scheduled that workshop for Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. The inventory submission and planned outreach to owners are administrative steps required by MDE; the council did not take a separate vote on the mailing at the Nov. 6 meeting.
Next steps: council review of a proposed contract amendment from Davis, Bowen & Friedel and consideration of ARPA allocations at the Nov. 19 workshop.
