Culbertson council moves regular meetings to 6 p.m., approves Parade of Lights permit and swears in members

The Culbertson Town Council on Dec. 4 voted to move its regular meeting start time from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., approved routine consent items and accepted a Parade of Lights application for Dec. 19, 2017. Town Attorney Greg Hennessy also administered oaths of office to two members whose terms begin Jan. 1, 2018.
Councilmember Jaimee Green moved to approve the meeting agenda at the start of the session; Dave Solem seconded, and the agenda was adopted by voice consent. Later, Solem moved to approve the Nov. 6, 2017 regular meeting minutes, the November treasurer's report, Payroll JV 171100 and utility billing vouchers 1264–1269; Green seconded and the items were approved with no objections.
The council then took up Resolution 462, proposed to shift the council's regular meeting time from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Dave Solem moved the resolution and Jaimee Green seconded. The motion carried by voice consent; the resolution takes effect with the Jan. 8, 2018 meeting.
The council accepted an application for the Parade of Lights scheduled for Dec. 19, 2017, to follow the school concert. Jaimee Green moved to accept the application and Dave Solem seconded; the motion passed with no objections.
Clerk Kt Northington reported that she had contacted the abstract office and ordered title insurance for the Great American Lodge; Town Attorney Greg Hennessy reported he had not heard further from the trustees on that matter. On the Wheatland Hills financial-guarantee issue, the council noted that Jeremy Fadness with WW C is working with the DEQ to get Phase 1 engineering plans accepted so the town will not have to assume additional steps tied to the development's financial guarantee.
Hennessy swore in Larry Crowder and Dave Solem to their respective council positions effective Jan. 1, 2018. The auditing committee reviewed bills, which were ordered paid, and the meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m., according to the clerk's record.
