Bainville staff gather shop-upgrade bids; fire chief reports ISO inspection, council notes 19% water loss

Council members heard public-works and fire-department updates at the Feb. 10 meeting. Mayor Toby Romo reported that Dan Lambert is gathering bids for a broom attachment and for concrete, insulation and wiring work at the town shop.
Fire Chief David Norton told the council that the ISO inspection will be completed Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. Norton also suggested adding a reminder on the next utility bill to encourage residents to check smoke-detector batteries and to ensure sewer vents are not blocked by ice or freezing.
In the mayor’s report, Mayor Toby Romo said the town recorded 19% water loss for January 2025. Council members did not take further action on the water-loss report during the meeting but included this figure in their report of town operations.
