Commissioners approve fencing at new Coffee County animal shelter; grand opening July 11

The Coffee County Capital Outlay Committee voted unanimously July 2 to approve a fencing project at the county’s new animal shelter. Commissioner Tina Reed moved to approve the fence; Commissioner Frank Watkins seconded, and the motion passed with all members present voting yes.
Director Boyd told the committee that the shelter project is complete and that a fence is needed to enclose a concrete pad adjacent to the facility to provide additional space; Director Boyd said funding for the work is available. Commissioner Terry Hershman noted the shelter is complete. The committee listed the grand opening for the facility at 10:00 a.m. on July 11.
The committee’s recorded vote shows the three members present supported the motion; no abstentions or no-votes were recorded.
