Natchez-Adams board approves claims docket, student trips and personnel report; WAN bids tabled

The Natchez-Adams School District Board of Trustees voted Feb. 17 to approve the district’s January claims docket and accept accompanying financial statements and an audit update.
Business & Finance Manager Timothy Byrd presented reconciled bank statements, the statement of revenues and expenditures, the current budget status, the district maintenance monthly cash-flow statement and the combined balance sheet or current fund equity balances for January 2026. The board approved the claims docket and accepted the financial documents on a 5-0 roll call vote.
The board also approved the Natchez High School 2026–27 football schedule and authorized five out-of-state student trips: West Pre-K to Pineville, La.; Natchez High School to Baton Rouge, La.; NHS baseball to Vidalia, La.; NHS/NEC to Alexandria, La.; and FCTC to Vidalia/Ferriday, La. Those motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
Two vendors — Uniti Fiber and Sparklight — submitted bids for building-to-building WAN circuits. The board voted to table the bids for further review and asked administration to present a recommendation at the next meeting.
In executive session held later in the meeting, the board discussed personnel and then returned to open session to approve the Personnel Report and Vacancy List. That action passed 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 5:19 p.m.
Matters approved during the meeting will be reflected in the official minutes after board sign-off. No dollar amounts for claims or contract values for the WAN bids were disclosed in the meeting record.
