DAVID CITY, Neb. — The Butler County Board of Supervisors on July 6 heard details about a proposed six-year contract with EagleView for aerial imagery and software but postponed a purchasing decision to allow budget review.
Ryan Poots, EagleView district sales manager, outlined the two-project contract and described the timing of imagery acquisition (fall and spring flights to avoid tree cover). County Assessor Vickie Donoghue told the board that 2-inch imagery would best serve assessor functions and said there is enough in the equipment sinking fund to cover the first year.
Board members discussed cross-departmental benefits of higher-resolution imagery, asked whether gWorks still performs aerial photography (Donoghue said gWorks no longer does aerial photography), and focused on how to budget the multi-year cost. Chairman Scott Steager asked County Clerk Lori L. Aschoff and the budget committee to review budget options and potential funding for future years.
No vote was taken; the item was tabled to a future meeting for additional budget review and Clerk/budget-committee input.
