Kearney High students pitch Jesse James Park interpretive walk; aldermen express support

Mayor Randy Pogue and members of the Board of Aldermen praised the students’ presentation. Alderwoman Kathy Barger said she was impressed with their ability to present to the Board and hoped the City could find room in the budget to implement aspects of the project; Alderman David Lehman and Alderman Ashton King reiterated support and urged staff to pursue next steps. No formal funding decision was made at the meeting.
The Board encouraged staff to evaluate whether elements of the project could be included in future park planning or the FY2026 budget.
