Cromwell looks to Silver Sustainable Connecticut certification; planning memo and Complete Streets updates discussed

Cromwell’s Conservation Commission reviewed steps toward Silver certification in the Sustainable Connecticut program and received an update on potential Complete Streets sidewalk projects at its July 9 meeting.
Andrew J. Armstrong, Cromwell’s Director of Planning & Development, congratulated the commission and the town for earning Bronze certification through Sustainable Connecticut and noted that staff member Jennifer Tranquillo prepared a memo outlining easily attainable actions the town could complete to reach Silver certification within the next two years. Commissioners reviewed the list and agreed to email Ms. Tranquillo with any questions or ideas on how to complete the actions.
Mr. Armstrong also discussed possible locations in town for new sidewalks and sidewalk extensions associated with Complete Streets planning. The commission thanked Phyllis Baecker for volunteering to serve on the Complete Streets Committee on behalf of the Conservation Commission.
