Katie, with Hillsborough County Communications and Digital Media, said the board appropriated $95,000,000 for seven infrastructure projects under the county's "rebuilding for tomorrow" initiative, describing work that includes drainage improvements, ditch and drain restoration, culvert replacements, emergency power outage beacons, stormwater pump stations, low-pressure sewer system work and environmental land restoration.
The board also appropriated $208,400,000 for a single-family housing program intended to assist approximately 1,000 homeowners who owned their properties when they were impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton. Katie said these rebuilding-for-tomorrow funds are administered by the county and funded by HUD to help communities recover from those storms.
