Board approves irrigation change order tied to Seaside & Master Drainage Project (NTE $15,000)

River Ridge's district engineer presented a revised Seaside & Master Drainage Project scope and ancillary irrigation repairs; the Board approved an Irrigation Concepts change order to repair wiring and raise seven to eight irrigation heads in a not-to-exceed amount of $15,000.
The district engineer, Charlie Krebs, presented a revised scope for the Seaside & Master Drainage Project at the Nov. 19 meeting and noted that work is expected to start within two to three weeks. He reported ancillary irrigation costs stemming from the project: $4,002.50 to repair damaged wiring and approximately $1,300 each to raise seven to eight irrigation heads.
On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Bob Schultz, the Board approved an Irrigation Concepts change order totaling not more than $15,000 to repair the damaged wiring and raise the seven to eight irrigation heads. The motion passed "with all in favor." Mr. Krebs said the revised scope was intended to preserve the original project intent while making system changes easier for operations staff.
The approval authorizes the irrigation repairs as an ancillary part of the drainage project and directs staff to proceed with the not-to-exceed change order so the drainage work can commence on the projected schedule.
