River Ridge CDD accepts supervisor James Gilman’s resignation, solicits candidates to fill Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The Board then voted to accept the resignation on a motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly and approved unanimously.
Mrs. Adams said Mr. Gilman represented The Meadows and reported that Mr. Gilman told a friend to submit his resume; the Board directed Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA Manager to send an e‑blast to residents announcing the Board vacancy, outlining candidate qualification requirements, and asking interested candidates to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. The Board noted the appointment will fill an unexpired term (not an election).
The Board also discussed the administrative steps for a new appointee: administration of the oath of office, required ethics training and disclosure filings, sample Form 1 and instructions, membership obligations, the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics guidance, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict). The oath item was deferred to a future meeting.
