Hobart council unanimously adopts multiple ordinances and approves CF-1 filings

On second reading the council adopted Ordinance 2026-12 (amending §154.566(B) regarding the composition of the Historic Preservation Commission), Ordinance 2026-18 (rezoning an approximately 1.15-acre parcel from A-1 to M-1 located about a half-mile south of State Road 130 and Cleveland Avenue) and Ordinance 2026-19 (amending Chapter 95 governing care, maintenance and removal of trees). Each ordinance passed by roll-call vote with all councilmembers voting aye (7-0).
Council also advanced and adopted Ordinance 2026-20, transferring appropriations within the 2026 General Fund budgets for the Police Department, Public Safety LIT and the Law Enforcement Training Fund. The council suspended the rules and declared an emergency to proceed with the second reading; the motion to adopt passed 7-0.
In tax-abatement compliance matters, the council left the CF-1 review for Daifuku Intralogistics America Corp (6300 Northwind Parkway) on the table, and approved CF-1 compliance filings for 13 individual residential parcels in Cressmoor Estates after staff said the County Auditor will permit individual filings. The CF-1 approvals passed 7-0 (motion Kara; second Waldrop).
Why it matters: The ordinance adoptions and the budget transfer were unanimous, clearing code, zoning and budget items the city identified as time-sensitive. The CF-1 approvals resolve delayed homeowner filings in a previously abated area; corporate CF-1 compliance for Daifuku remains pending.
