Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Authority awards $300,000 grant for Lansing Switch Road in Harrison County

Judge Sims and county commissioners accepted a $300,000 grant Thursday from the Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Authority to help rebuild Lansing Switch Road.
Glenn Green, executive director of the Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Authority, told the court the county was selected by the authority—"to receive a grant in the amount of $300,000" for rebuilding and reconstructing Lansing Switch Road. Green introduced several RMA staff members and thanked county appointees Rush Harris and Mac Abney for their service.
Why it matters: the NetRMA funding will cover a portion of the project costs; the county will finance the remaining work. Green said the grant comes through the authority————————————program and local partnership, and Judge Sims thanked the authority for its continued support of Harrison County road projects.
County officials did not present a formal vote on the check; the presentation was ceremonial and will feed into project budgeting and contracting as county staff proceed with design and financing.
The commission recessed briefly afterward for a photo with RMA staff; no further project timetable or county funding allocation was provided during the meeting.
