USD 452 board clears KMEA overnight trip, senior song and new softball jerseys

The Stanton County Unified School District #452 Board of Education unanimously approved several student-activity items during its Feb. 11 meeting, including an overnight music trip, a senior-class graduation song and softball jerseys.
An overnight trip to the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) event scheduled Feb. 26–28 was approved after discussion about sponsorship requirements. Fernando Muro's original request listed two female attendees; by the meeting the roster included Fernando and his sister. Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the trip under "extreme conditions" and to waive the female-sponsor requirement; Bret Kendrick seconded and the motion carried 6-0.
Senior class officers requested "Where'd All the Time Go?" by Dr. Dog as the recessional for graduation; Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the selection, Paige German seconded and the motion carried 6-0.
On athletic apparel, coaches requested only jerseys for the softball team (no pants). Paige German moved to approve the softball jerseys as presented; Val Zamudio seconded the motion and the board voted 6-0. The minutes state "Gary" will collect numbers and sizes and coordinate ordering with Principal Leah Crane.
Each of these items passed on unanimous board votes and will proceed under the administration's usual event-approval and ordering procedures.
