Stanton County USD 452 adopts calendar and several policies, approves student travel

The board approved Calendar A with January 4, 2027, designated as a teacher workday after staff noted teacher preference for an initial post‑holiday workday. The motion was made by Paige German and seconded by Chantry Scott and carried 6-0.
The board also approved a Dual Sports Board Policy (moved by Bobbie Ehrlich, seconded by Chantry Scott), amendments to the Overnight Trip Policy (moved by Bobbie Ehrlich, seconded by Bret Kendrick) and a Grant Writing Policy (moved by Bret Kendrick, seconded by Bobbie Ehrlich). Minutes note auditors confirmed grant writers may be paid by the district without deducting fees from awarded grants; the board approved the policy 6-0.
Instructional program and software decisions included approval of a Go Edustar quote for $16,868.92 for the 2026–27 school year (motion by Chantry Scott, seconded by Bret Kendrick). The board also approved an overnight cross‑country trip to Estes Park presented by Bryan Ellis (motion by Bret Kendrick, seconded by Bobbie Ehrlich), which the board carried 6-0.
One personnel item was tabled: the Instructional Leader contract was deferred for further review with the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) lawyer (motion by Bobbie Ehrlich, seconded by Paige German).
