The East Missoula Community Council on April 14 approved March meeting minutes and agreed to use the council’s remaining $40.72 for a going‑away cake and ice‑cream reception for a departing member.
Jack moved to accept the March 2026 minutes; Sue seconded and the motion passed. The council also discussed the treasurer’s report; the balance was confirmed as $40.72. After suggestions from members, Stephanie moved to spend the balance on a going‑away celebration; the motion carried with a three‑yes vote (a quorum of five was present). “So that’s what we’ll do with the $40.72 balance then is apply it to our next month’s meeting, for, like, a going away party for me,” Sue said.
Members reviewed community announcements and events. Sue said she has scheduled a vaccine clinic with Missoula City‑County Public Health on Oct. 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. and is also arranging a plant clinic and seed exchange for late spring; she said she may hand the plant event off to another volunteer.
Council members also discussed the fire levy's ballot timetable. One speaker noted that ballots were due to mail soon and that some ballots would arrive by Thursday or Friday; members confirmed May 5 as the in‑person drop‑off/election deadline in their area and discussed permanent ballot drop‑off boxes maintained by elections officials. The council did not adopt any resolutions related to the levy at the meeting.
Jack moved to adjourn near the end of the meeting; another member seconded and the meeting concluded with an aye vote.
The council asked members to check the East Missoula Facebook page and emails for follow‑up materials and meeting announcements.
