Clinton School Board approves several hires, policy updates and the 2025–26 budget
Summary
The Clinton School Board unanimously approved three staff hires, an update to fingerprinting policy, the addition of a legislatively required "Freedom Week," the trustees’ 2024–25 financial summary, and the 2025–26 budget after brief discussion of inter-district tuition accounting and insurance trust questions.

The Clinton School Board voted to approve multiple staffing and policy items and adopted the district budget for 2025–26 at its regular meeting.
Board members approved hiring Carly Weidner as a mentor teacher and Kaylee Mayo as the district testing coordinator, and authorized initial onboarding for the newly hired school health aide. Presenter said the health aide, Jessica Erwin, “has her CNA” and will support student care, set up vaccination clinics and provide CPR training for staff.
In policy work, the board approved policy 3655 after a discussion of fingerprinting procedures. Presenter explained the district is moving toward live-scan (digital) fingerprinting because it returns results faster (about three to five business days) than traditional fingerprints. The board also approved an update to policy 2100 to add the legislature-required “Freedom Week” in the last full week of September.
During the business-manager report, staff described recent changes to inter-district tuition accounting, noting roughly $170,000 in tuition transfers to other districts and that receivables from other districts will partially offset general-fund impacts. Staff cited guidance from MTSBA that “net billing” is not supported by the current statutory wording.
Board members approved the trustees’ financial summary for fiscal year 2024–25 and then voted to adopt the 2025–26 budget. The meeting adjourned at about 6:43 p.m.
