Fox said ArcaSearch conducted or completed an inventory of records beginning in 1913 and proposed a scanning project with on-site mobile teams. He provided an initial cost estimate just over $18,000 for the project and said there would be an annual maintenance fee of $1,100 to maintain the online records-access platform. Fox said grant funding or charitable gifts could be used to pay for the project.
Mayor Wiley told council members he would distribute a copy of the written proposal to each council member and place a resolution on the next council agenda to pursue funding options. Council member James Walsh asked staff to solicit proposals from other vendors for comparison before the council commits to a single provider.
