Clyde Park council accepts Deputy CSO resignation, raises lot fee and waives farmers market permit

At its March 10 meeting the Clyde Park Town Council accepted the resignation of Deputy CSO Bob Queen, approved routine financial items including claims warrants, raised the lot fee to $50 per lot, waived the farmers market permit fee and tabled a proposed fireworks ordinance after a roll-call vote.
The Clyde Park Town Council accepted the resignation of Deputy CSO Bob Queen and approved several administrative actions at its March 10, 2025 meeting.
Mayor Wiley read a letter of resignation from Deputy CSO Bob Queen, and Council member Teresa Saari moved to accept the resignation. The motion, seconded by Council member Brian Eckenrod, passed. Deputy Clerk Louann Barr presented a brief review of license and fee collections comparing 2023 and 2025, noting chicken and livestock fees rose from $115 in 2023 to $155 in 2025, dog-license receipts fell from $5,020 in 2023 to $1,415 in 2025, and business-license receipts fell from $2,750 in 2023 to $2,000 in 2025.
Clerk/Treasurer Stacy Mills presented the treasury financial report. The council noted February utility billing of $15,809.15 and collections of $14,984.11. Council member Saari moved to approve the claims warrants and Treasurer's report; the motion was seconded by Council member Dave Sarrazin and approved.
On planning fees, Council member Saari presented recommended changes from the Planning Board and moved to raise the lot fee to $50 per lot. Council member Roger Chandler seconded the motion, and it passed. Saari will prepare a resolution with the revised fees for the next council meeting.
Council approved a Farmers Market permit application and waived the fee after a motion by Saari and a second from Council member James Walsh.
After discussion, Council member Roger Chandler moved to table consideration of a proposed fireworks ordinance; the motion was seconded and Mayor Wiley called a roll-call vote. Council members Dave Sarrazin, James Walsh, Roger Chandler and Brian Eckenrod voted to table the matter; Council member Teresa Saari voted no. The ordinance discussion will return to a future agenda.
Council member Saari moved to adopt the Town Creed; Council member Chandler seconded the motion and it passed, with Council member Walsh recorded as voting no.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. following a motion by Council member Roger Chandler and a second by Council member Brian Eckenrod.
What’s next: Mayor Wiley will distribute the ArcaSearch proposal to council members and place a resolution on the next agenda to seek funding for records digitization.
