The Colstrip City Council voted to approve a new legal services agreement with city attorney Michelle Mulholland, the council chair announced during the meeting.
The agreement increases Mulholland’s monthly compensation and her monthly office expense allowance; the council chair said, “No change in the language except, yeah, the increases in the monthly compensation and, increase in the, monthly office expenses.” The chair brought the motion; the council moved to a vote without extended discussion.
The council recorded four aye votes for the motion. Council members Rosander, Hanser, Kutsers and Dudley were called and answered “Aye.” No members voted against the motion or registered abstentions on the record.
Council members asked only clarifying questions about the dollar amount and whether language in the contract had changed. The chair confirmed that, apart from the increases to compensation and office expenses, the contract language was not altered. The item concluded with the council’s approval.
The meeting then proceeded to other agenda items; the council did not vote on additional changes to personnel or labor policy during the session.
