At a brief public meeting, the Clinton School District Board approved three personnel hires and agreed to a memorandum of understanding with the Clinton Education Association adjusting teachers’ prep time on early‑release days.
Board member (S1) moved to approve the agenda and then moved the personnel items: the board approved hiring Kelsey Wilson as head boys basketball coach and Kyle Dierud as assistant boys basketball coach. The motions were seconded and approved by voice vote after Chair (S2) called for ayes.
Board member (S1) also moved to approve hiring Samantha Benrose as a substitute teacher for the 2025–26 school year. Chair (S2) asked whether the hire was still contingent on a background check; Staff member (S3) said, "Pending background check references have been completed," and added she would verify whether the background check remained current because Benrose was a former district employee. The board recorded vocal approval for the substitute hire.
On agenda item 0.09, Chair (S2) presented an MOU implementing changes the Clinton Education Association requested for prep times on early‑release days and said the agreement "will be an MOU that I will sign." Board member (S1) moved that the board approve the MOU between the Clinton Education Association and the Clinton School District; Chair (S2) called for the ayes and the board recorded approval.
The chair closed the meeting after noting there was no further business and adjourned. No additional reports or old business were presented during the session.
