Trustees announce fire millage outreach, absentee ballot mailings and completed paving

During the board-reports portion of the June 16 meeting, trustees shared several public-facing updates: outreach for a proposed fire millage, election preparations and a road-paving completion.
Trustee Petrucci said the Hartland Deerfield Fire Department is preparing informational sessions for a forthcoming fire millage and listed dates including a virtual town hall June 17 at 7:00 p.m., Coffee with the Chief June 19 at 10:00 a.m., and an appearance at the Farmer’s Market June 27, with additional July dates to be scheduled.
Clerk Larry N. Ciofu said staff are testing election equipment this week and, if all goes well, the clerk’s office will mail more than 3,800 absent voter ballots next week as part of August election preparations.
Supervisor Fountain noted Old US-23 paving has been completed and commended the paving company and Livingston County for maintaining business access during construction.
What’s next: the fire department outreach dates are scheduled; the clerk’s office will proceed with equipment testing and absent-voter mailings; no board votes were required for these reports.
