The Plympton Conservation Commission on April 21 addressed inadvertent clearing at 387 Main Street and agreed conditions with the property owner to allow revegetation and prevent further disturbance.
Commission Chair Rick Burnet and Conservation Agent Brian Vasa reported that owner Jeff Perette is relocating a previously approved solar array from 399 to 387 Main Street and unintentionally cleared into wetlands on the east side of the property. To avoid an Enforcement Order, Perette proposed and the commission accepted measures: cease any further activity within the wetland, spread or remove the piles of material within the 100-foot buffer and allow the area to revegetate, and construct a fence 75 feet from the wetland flags with permanent wetland medallions or signage prior to project construction.
The commission conditioned acceptance of the proposed solar layout on those measures; Commission members asked for confirmation that the area will be allowed to revegetate and that permanent signage will be installed on the fence posts. Conservation Agent Brian Vasa will follow up to verify the fence, signage and revegetation steps.
