Board reviews audit adjustments, approves July financials; interconnect payment of $396,025 noted

At the Aug. 21 meeting the Stratmoor Hills Water District received its monthly manager’s report and an update on audit and financial matters. District Manager Kirk Medina said staff had started audit adjustments for the 2022 and 2023 budget years, with completion targeted for Aug. 23 and assistance from Jessie Seibert. Medina said he has begun preparing management reports to be included in monthly financial statements.
Medina also reminded the board that the interconnect project payment of $396,025 for an additional 175 acre‑feet from Colorado State University (CSU) will be paid that month, and that the $96,114 audit adjustment paid to the Sanitation District had not yet been transferred and would appear on next month’s bank balances. He reported that settlement claims against 3M and DuPont have been submitted and the district expects to receive payment in the future; no amounts or timelines were specified.
Director John Willcox reported on safety training and inspections. Vice‑President James Pesicka moved to approve the July 2024 financial report; Secretary/Treasurer John Willcox seconded and the motion passed unanimously 5‑0.
