The Stratmoor Hills Water District Board voted unanimously Aug. 21 to hire consultant Steven G. Rabe to assist in recruiting a replacement for the district manager, who plans to retire at the end of 2024. Vice‑President James Pesicka moved to approve the professional services agreement and Secretary/Treasurer John Willcox seconded; the motion passed 5‑0.
President Robert Colgrove told the board Mr. Rabe had provided a draft Professional Services Agreement and a memo describing state statutory requirements for filling the vacancy. The board subsequently approved the hiring timeline and application process as proposed by the consultant; that motion also passed unanimously.
The consultant agreement authorizes Mr. Rabe to facilitate the hiring process and perform other professional services as needed, and the timeline sets out the district’s intended schedule for advertising and reviewing applications. Board members did not record additional conditions or amendments at the meeting.
The board expects further updates during upcoming meetings as the consultant and staff move forward with candidate recruitment and statutory compliance.
