Troy Recreation Board approves equipment purchases, payments and confirms insurance, property updates

The Troy Recreation Board met May 26, 2026, at the THS Cafeteria and approved a set of routine expenditures and personnel payments while reviewing facility and insurance matters.
Board members reviewed the financial position, reporting a current balance of $146,283.39, a park account balance of $14,805.25, a $56,000 pool transfer and encumbered funds under $12,500, leaving $62,978.14 available. The board decided to retain liability insurance on both properties but not to purchase property insurance.
Board member Robert Fuemmeler moved to approve purchase of two Brute 50-gallon trash cans (priced at $78.97 each before tax) from Home Depot; board member Barb Greaser seconded the motion, which carried with all present voting in favor. Fuemmeler was authorized to place the order.
The board also approved a $300 donation request for an alumni tournament; approved umpire pay of $35 per game; and approved a half payment of $1,000 to Derrick Jasper for running the summer ball league. In each case, Robert Fuemmeler moved and Barb Greaser seconded; the motions carried by the members present.
Separately, the board noted that Alan Boeh is pursuing a quiet-title action to clarify ownership of the court property at 105 S Boder Street. The board reported the courts’ shade structure has been reinstalled and the courts are in the process of being painted. A previously approved storage bin (up to $200) will be picked up by Mike Estes from Sam’s Club.
The Park Committee announced a Disc Golf Grand Opening set for June 6, and the board confirmed its public contact email as TroyRecreationBoard@gmail.com. The board set its next meeting for July 7 at 6:00 PM. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 PM and adjourned at 6:55 PM.
Minutes recorded attendance as Mike Estes, Barb Greaser and Robert Fuemmeler present and Dru Whetstine and Jim Horner absent. No detailed roll-call vote tallies beyond "all in favor" were recorded in the minutes for the motions listed.
