Yasmin Edge, project manager for the City of East Point zoning ordinance rewrite, provided an update on July 14 about outreach and next steps for a comprehensive rewrite of the zoning code.
Edge said the city engaged Inspire Placemaking Collective as the project vendor, held a public kickoff June 27 and has posted a monthly project status report and a project website with a survey and an interactive map that lets residents drop pins indicating where they would like to see specific improvements. She described a community advisory group open to residents and business owners and encouraged public participation. Edge announced a community advisory meeting on July 22 at 6 p.m. at the city annex and an open house on Aug. 4 from 4–6 p.m. in City Council chambers.
Edge said staff are actively transferring community feedback to the vendor and emphasized the project’s collaborative approach: she invited residents to attend engagement events or contact staff directly for more information.
The project will proceed through scheduled public engagement events; details and project materials are available on the city’s planning and zoning web pages.
