Council Member JC Simonsen observed that leasing equipment could keep the system current while the cabling remains city property. Mayor Craig Simons said he was comfortable with the lower‑cost recommendation and noted the project would provide Wi‑Fi access for Swiss Days. Council Member Andy Garland moved to award the contract to CVE; Council Member Kevin Payne seconded and the council voted unanimously in favor.
The contract award authorizes the city to proceed with vendor coordination and implementation with the city’s managed service provider.
