The council’s adoption follows staff reports that other revenue lines and expenditures were adjusted in response to recent developments. Mayor Craig Simons and council members noted that Midway’s property-tax rate has fallen substantially over several years and that the city did not need an across‑the‑board tax increase to fund the adopted spending plan.
The council did not debate alternative tax scenarios during the motion; budget documents and the formal resolution were listed in the meeting supplemental materials.
The council approved the budget as presented; the city will post the final adopted budget and the implementing resolution in its public records and will process quarterly amendments as needed.
