Columbus council approves permits, contracts, grants and payroll resolution

The Columbus City Council approved a package of routine motions and votes covering permits, professional services, project payments and a wages resolution.
Key approvals included special use permits for a John Beard Memorial Poker Run at Waller Run Memorial Airport, the Montana Gives event at Railroad Park, and a bike rodeo near the elementary school. The council also approved a professional services agreement with AEI Applicator for weed control not to exceed $30,000 and renewed an agreement with Engineering West to serve as contract zoning officer.
Task order 33 with Engineering Interstate for services on a 12th Street crossing was approved for $8,000. The council approved a pay application to Askin Construction for $172,591.75 on the UV project and authorized an audit services contract with Olmos, CPA. A bid recommendation for pavement maintenance in the amount of $156,127.26 was approved, and council approved moving forward with a FAA grant application of $219,248 with a local match of $10,964 (split between the city and county).
Motions were carried by voice or roll call as shown in the meeting record. The council also approved a lease with Devin Pinkle and Heather Meyer and appointed Jonathan Church to the Columbus Police Department after his probation period.
