Task Force approves half of requested training; schedules plan edits for May

At the April 16 meeting, the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County DUI Task Force approved covering half the cost of a requested training that would span multiple county DUI task forces. Morgan Smith reported outreach to neighboring counties: Powell County agreed to cover one-quarter if all four counties joined, or up to one-half if no others joined; the Task Force voted to cover half the cost, with Powell County covering the remaining share.
Lauren Bolten moved to approve funding half of the training request; Keith Lopez seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The motion does not obligate additional county funding beyond the approved share, and members asked staff to continue outreach to neighboring task forces.
Members also reviewed the Task Force plan and discussed the need for updated data. Bolten requested a Word version of the plan to prepare suggested edits; Morgan Smith said the plan will be emailed to members and that amendments will be considered and voted on at the May meeting so the plan can be forwarded to the County Commission for final approval.
During miscellaneous announcements, Bolten introduced Tayci Pimley, a tobacco-education employee of ADLC Public Health, and summarized Pimley’s primary projects. The meeting adjourned at 10:40 a.m.
