The Kindred City Council reviewed a request from the Kindred-Davenport Airport Authority concerning special assessments on 406 Newport Parkway but took no action to change the existing certified assessments.
Minutes indicate the parcel was treated consistently with similar residential-zoned lots that had water and sewer service connections; although its shape is unusual and a developer noted it could be replatted or rezoned if acquired by the airport in the future, council members said the only alternative to reducing the certified assessment would be for the City to absorb the costs at taxpayer expense. Mayor Kersting advised that there would be no change to the existing certified special assessments.
The minutes record the request and council’s decision but do not include a formal motion on this item to alter the assessments.
