Killdeer approves Daxko software consideration and new sound system for aquatics center; funds community event items

Killdeer’s Aquatics & Wellness Center manager Catherine Williams told the commission on Jan. 20 that Shapenet, the center’s membership and facility software provider, had been acquired by Daxko and presented a proposed agreement for membership management and point‑of‑sale services. Commissioner Cindy Hanson moved that the commission recommend consideration of the Daxko agreement; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
Williams also presented two quotes for repairing or replacing the facility sound system: $5,637.48 from Blue Hawk Audio and $5,313.69 from Caves. The commission approved the lower Caves quote and authorized that work.
Community Development Director Teresa Presser proposed a summer intern program for an architecture student through NDSU; Commissioner Chris Fenstermaker moved to proceed and the commission approved the internship. The commission also voted to pay half the cost ($4,999) of inflatables for a recent High Plains Community Center event.
The meeting included a procedural motion to request quotes for a sprinkler system at the old fire hall; commissioners approved pursuing quotes but did not authorize installation at this meeting.
