Artist proposes mural as Parks commission highlights April Market and Arbor Day events

Drinkwine read an Arbor Day proclamation and announced that free trees would be given out April 25 at the Withlacoochee Arbor Day celebration in Dade City. Parks staff said adding Wi‑Fi and cameras to increase park safety would be too expensive at this time and the department is exploring alternatives.
The commission did not take formal action on the mural proposal during the meeting; the item was part of the public-comment record. Commissioner Drinkwine also asked to revisit a parking solution to prevent long-term street parking, and the commission requested Attorney Gerald T. Buhr provide examples of parking ordinances for future consideration.
