Oakdale used its Monday Morning Minute to list community events at Walton Park this week and to urge residents to take precautions during recent wildfire smoke.
The Presenter said the Oakdale Farmers Market returns Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Walton Park West parking lot off 15th Street, followed at 7 p.m. by jazz from the Hot Club Mania Quartet at the Walton Park Bandshell. "The Oakdale Farmers Market is back on Wednesday from 2 to 6PM in the Walton Park West parking lot off of 15th Street," the Presenter said.
The bulletin also announced a free family screening of Zootopia 2 on Friday, July 24. The Presenter said the movie will start at dusk, "around 09:15PM," and that the event is hosted by the Oakdale Recreation and Police Departments, with concessions provided by the Maplewood Oakdale Lions Club.
Residents were reminded that Night to Unite is Tuesday, Aug. 4; the Presenter asked neighbors hosting gatherings who would like a visit from Oakdale Police, the Fire Department or the City Council to submit requests to the city by Friday, July 24.
The Presenter closed the announcement by warning of recent wildfire smoke and unhealthy air quality, advising listeners to limit outdoor exposure, reduce vehicle trips and delay backyard bonfires until the air clears. No formal actions or votes were recorded during the minute.
The Monday Morning Minute concluded with a brief sign-off; no further scheduling or follow-up actions were announced.
