The Tucker County Schools board voted unanimously on a slate of personnel actions after returning from an executive session in which no formal action was taken.
Staff presented a professional resignation: Lauren Godfrey, resignation as school counselor at TCHS, effective June 30, 2026; the board moved and approved the resignation by voice vote, 5‑0. The board also accepted extracurricular resignations for Anthony Wilt (volunteer assistant girls basketball coach at DTEMS, effective March 10, 2026), Chrissy O'Brien (head cheer coach at DTEMS, effective March 18, 2026) and noted Elizabeth Buchanan rescinded her summer‑school cook/custodian position effective March 24, 2026; those motions were approved 5‑0.
The board approved several hires pending paperwork and background checks: Jonathan Busch (chief mechanic/bus operator, TCBOE, effective April 7, 2026), Jessica Canfield (sub cook and custodian, listed as effective with the 2526 school year), and Shane Snyder (sub custodian, listed as effective with the 2526 school year). Extracurricular hires approved included Allison Schneider (theater coach at TCHS, beginning with the 2627 school year), Autumn Evans (assistant volleyball coach at DTEMS, 2026 season) and Justin Van De Vinder (volunteer softball coach at TVEMS, 2026 season). Leave requests from Sarah Kobach (one day unpaid on 04/01/2026) and Jamie Nestor (two days unpaid on April 22 and 05/15/2026) were granted.
Staff also presented recommended personnel transfers for the 2627 school year and reduction‑in‑force items: a professional RIF naming Melissa Bonner (intervention specialist at DTE) and a service RIF naming Elizabeth Buchanan (ECAT/paraprofessional/transportation aid at TBEMS). Each recommendation was moved, seconded and approved by the board, with votes recorded as 5‑0. Several hires were explicitly noted as pending certification, paperwork and background checks.
The board recorded the actions and set the next regular meeting for April 21 at 04:30 p.m. at the board office.
