San Antonio commission approves Rosewood South preliminary plat; awards park-fence and website contracts

The San Antonio City Commission on Oct. 21 approved the preliminary plat for the Rosewood South subdivision and agreed to three vendor procurements, voting unanimously on each action with Commissioner Sasha Madden absent.

Commissioner Blaze Drinkwine moved “TO APPROVE THE PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR ROSEWOOD SOUTH,” a motion carried by Mayor John Vogel II and Commissioners Caitlin Bolender, Blaze Drinkwine and Randy Huckabee; Commissioner Madden was recorded absent. Commissioner Bolender earlier reported $139,901.31 in building permit activity for September.

In Parks and Recreation business, Commissioner Huckabee moved to accept the quote from Thompson Fence to install fencing at Lake Park for $1,400; Commissioner Bolender seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Drinkwine had said the department would replace a soccer goal damaged by a fallen limb and would present painting quotes for the Lake Park building next month.

In the clerk’s report, Assistant City Clerk Julia Fresne-Sandifer presented a CivicPlus proposal to replace the city website and address ADA compliance. Commissioner Huckabee moved to accept the CivicPlus quote; Commissioner Drinkwine seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

The meeting opened with the consent agenda — minutes and September disbursements — which Commissioner Bolender moved to accept; Commissioner Drinkwine seconded and the consent agenda passed unanimously. No abstentions were recorded; Commissioner Madden was noted as absent for roll call and voting.

The commission adjourned at 6:50 p.m. and listed a community blood drive scheduled for Nov. 5 as an upcoming event.
